In an incident, the lead was detected in Flint river which apparently killed 12 people with Legionnaires disease a type of pneumonia.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1777px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static5.businessinsider.com\/image\/59e7798a909924f2268b46eb-1777\/gitanjali%20rao%20tethys%203.jpg\" alt=\"Gitanjali Rao, contamination lead levels, inspirational, motivational\" width=\"1777\" height=\"1333\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Andy King, Discovery Education<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was disheartened to see the number of people affected by lead contamination in water and she took an initiative to invent this device to change this. Gitanjali parents are engineers and she got the inspiration from her parents to test lead levels of the waters in their home and she realized the process can be complicated.
